Monday's discussion 9/21

I realized that as I heaped accolades on Susan (Rouse) my question did not come out; pardon me for being somewhat obtuse but my question actually is this: The professor may be "expecting" something from the student, may be encouraging interaction, may be the most passionate person in the world about the topic but what if the student doesn't WANT to be engaged? I am afraid I have seen too much of the, "open my head and pour in what I need to know to pass the test" attitude. If Susan can interest ME in an area of biology anyone who is a major should be captivated! I am totally passionate about library instruction and information literacy. When I ask for interaction, no grades involved, just for my information, I still get the blank looks. How do we counteract that???
